High School Technology Committee Focus
Our last meeting’s agenda included developing goals . We began by watching a short video on how rapidly technology is changing, information is tripling and the difference between students in the U.S. and other countries. This led to discussions about the stumbling blocks that state assessment formats throw into the way of improving learning with technology. The discussion went in many different interesting directions which is great because that is how ideas get born. Before we knew it was 3:30; time to go. Some of the ideas that came out of that meeting were this:
- We need to have a mission and 1 and 3 yr goals
- We (committee) need more time to plan for technology than 1 hour once a month
- The format of our meeting could include so many great informational sessions led by different departments
- We need a building tech integrator
- Ideas can be generated before and during meetings
We decided that at our next session we are going to start by establishing a mission or purpose for our committee, start to sketch out 1-3 yr integration goals, chat about a vision for fall 2007.
The bold text above is our agenda for the May 9th meeting which will be 1 hour this time in the afternoon 2:30-3:30
